Meet Our New Shareholder & Associate
Kulzer & DiPadova is pleased to announce that an associate has been elected shareholder and a new associate has joined the firm.
Kulzer & DiPadova proudly announces that Kristin Schmid J.D, LL.M. has become a shareholder in the firm. “Kristin has been a tremendous resource on a variety of complex tax matters with her experience both here and with a large public accounting firm,” says Art DiPadova, a founding member of the firm.
Ms. Schmid earned her J.D. from Villanova University School of Law specializing in Corporate Law, and her bachelor’s degree at the University of Pennsylvania where she majored in Political Science and Economics.
Ms. Schmid earned her Masters of Law (LL.M.) in Taxation from New York University School of Law. She is a member of the Bar of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of New Jersey. Ms. Schmid currently serves as one of the Taxation Law Section’s delegates to the New Jersey State Bar Association General Council.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Schmid was a Senior Tax Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP where she specialized in mergers and acquisitions and international tax. While at PwC, Ms. Schmid handled the federal tax implications of complex merger and acquisition transactions involving Fortune 500 corporations. Her experience includes spin-offs, carve outs, liquidations, taxable transactions, and non-recognition transactions.
Ms. Schmid’s practice areas include corporate tax, business transactions, real estate, and international tax.
Kulzer & DiPadova is pleased to announce that Solaris Power, J.D., MSW has joined the firm as an associate.
She is a member of the Bar of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of New Jersey. Ms. Power earned her J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, graduating as a Rubin Public Interest Honor Society Fellow. While obtaining her J.D., she also completed the integrated Trial Advocacy Program and later served as a Teaching Assistant within that same program.
Prior to law school, Ms. Power obtained a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy and Practice, also in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, concentrating on economic and social policy issues for seniors. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, at the University of Maryland, College Park campus, concentrating in counseling psychology.
During law school, Ms. Power was a law clerk at The Beasley Law Firm, LLC , clerked for The Honorable Luis Felipe Restrepo, in the United States District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania and served on the Elder Law Judicial Task Force writing committee for the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania.
